High‑density IT and AI/HPC workloads demand stable hydraulics, precise temperature control, and dependable uptime. MP Pumps’ portfolio – Standard (S) end‑suction centrifugal pumps and CHEMFLO® stainless‑steel end‑suction pumps for chilled and process water, plus PETROLMAXX for fuel service – provides robust, configurable flow options for cooling and backup systems. These pump platforms are compatible with variable‑frequency drives (VFDs) on the motor/drive side, and are offered in close‑coupled, pedestal, and PumPAK® (wet‑end only) configurations to simplify service and integration.

Media compatibility. CHEMFLO® pumps are built in 316 stainless steel with multiple mechanical‑seal/elastomer options; they are widely applied on water and water–glycol. Use with other process or dielectric fluids is available on request after a materials compatibility review and seal selection.

Cooling Systems: Air, Liquid, Hybrid

Air‑assisted chilled‑water loops. Standard (S) and CHEMFLO® pumps deliver stable primary/secondary flows to chillers, CRAH/CRAC coils, and adiabatic or dry coolers. VFD‑based speed control and sensor feedback (implemented in the plant controls) help maintain the design ΔT while reducing throttling losses and pump energy.

Direct Liquid Cooling (DLC) & Rear‑Door Heat Exchangers (RDHx). For racks beyond conventional thermal densities, CHEMFLO® hydraulics combine with CDUs and plate heat exchangers to provide precise secondary‑loop flow at controlled temperatures. Low vibration, broad hydraulic coverage, and 316SS construction with seal options support service on deionized water and water–glycol commonly used in DLC and RDHx.

Immersion and liquid‑only architectures. Where alternative or dielectric fluids are specified, wet‑ends can be configured with seal/elastomer selections appropriate to the working fluid and temperature window. Integration with skid‑level filtration and heat‑recovery loops is handled by the system integrator; VFD operation enables close set‑point tracking as IT loads fluctuate. (Compatibility verified case‑by‑case.)

Redundancy by design. N+1 and 2N arrangements are achieved at system level using matched duty/standby sets, lead/lag logic, and isolation valves in the controls package/skid – aligning with Tier‑style uptime expectations.

Critical Infrastructure Pump Solutions for Water, Energy & Backup Systems

Water Intake & Distribution Systems

Whether process water comes from municipal connections, wells, lakes, or screened intakes, MP’s Standard (S) and CHEMFLO® pumps offer corrosion‑resistant constructions (e.g., 316SS on CHEMFLO®) and end‑suction hydraulics sized across a wide operating envelope. Selection should ensure appropriate NPSH margins to avoid cavitation in long or restrictive suction designs; pressure‑setpoint control and event alarms are implemented via the plant PLC/BMS provided by the integrator.

Heat Reuse & Energy Efficiency

As more sites export server waste heat to buildings or district‑energy networks, VFD‑driven control with sensor feedback (in the facility controls) helps pumps maintain target ΔT and stable flow, improving energy transfer without thermal excursions in the IT loop.

Fuel Pumps for Backup Generators

When grid power is lost, PETROLMAXX pumps support fuel‑transfer duties (e.g., bulk tank to day tank) in generator systems. PETROLMAXX is MP’s petroleum/fuel family, offered alongside FLOMAX®, CHEMFLO®, and other lines for industrial service. System‑level accessories – filtration, air elimination, leak detection, and automatic switchover – are supplied by the fuel‑system integrator

Why Choose Standard Series, CHEMFLO®, and PETROLMAXX

  • Proven mechanical reliability. End‑suction designs with balanced impellers and engineered seals enable long service intervals. CHEMFLO® datasheets specify multiple 316SS cast components and seal options to match duty points.
  • VFD‑friendly operation (drive side). MP pumps are commonly paired with VFDs to minimize throttling losses, maintain ΔT, and adapt to dynamic rack loads – implemented via the site’s motor/drive and controls.
  • Materials & media flexibility. CHEMFLO® offers 316SS hydraulics with configurable seal/elastomer combinations; Standard (S) covers a range of metallic constructions (cast iron, bronze, etc.) for utility services. Media beyond water and water–glycol are evaluated via materials compatibility
  • Temperature handling. Seal and material selections can be specified for elevated supply temperatures in heat‑reuse scenarios – while maintaining efficiency and stable NPSH margins by design.
  • Serviceability. PumPAK®/pedestal/close‑coupled variants facilitate access to seals and bearings and let you select the preferred motor/drive without disturbing the pipework.
