HTW 180 | Hot Water Pump | Tempuflo Series

The MP Pumps HTW 180 is a patented, heavy‑duty centrifugal pump engineered specifically for demanding high‑temperature process applications. Designed to handle hot water and glycol‑based heat‑transfer fluids, it delivers exceptional reliability, extended seal life, and consistent performance in the most rigorous industrial environments.

Product Overview

The HTW 180 belongs to MP Pumps’ Tempuflo HTW Series, a product line created to withstand extreme thermal conditions encountered in process heating systems. The pump’s unique architecture integrates an isolated seal chamber supported by a dual‑cooling system: a dedicated cooling loop functioning as a heat exchanger, and a fan clamp mounted directly on the shaft of a standard NEMA C Face motor. This design enables the pump to maintain a maximum seal chamber temperature of 170°F (77°C) even when the process fluid reaches 400°F (204°C), significantly reducing mechanical seal wear and extending service intervals.

Constructed from high‑strength ductile iron and equipped with a precision‑machined 6.45" impeller, the HTW 180 ensures optimal hydraulic efficiency across a wide operating range. It supports flow rates up to 320 GPM (72.7 m³/h) and heads up to 162 ft (49 m), making it suitable for large‑scale heat transfer and circulation systems. The pump accommodates both horizontal and vertical discharge positions, providing flexibility during installation.

Designed for industrial OEMs, process heating systems, and high‑temperature circulation loops, the HTW 180 is offered with multiple drive options—including 184TC and 215TC close‑coupled motor configurations—and operates with motor ratings up to 10 HP (7.35 kW). Its carbon/silicon carbide/Viton mechanical seal combination ensures excellent chemical compatibility and durability under continuous high‑heat exposure. With a maximum process temperature capability of 650°F (343°C), the HTW 180 reliably handles the most extreme thermal media, including ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, triethylene glycol, and hot water.
