Product Overview
The MP Pumps Series 200 is engineered as a high‑efficiency end‑suction centrifugal pump optimized for demanding liquid‑handling applications. Its design integrates hydraulic performance, mechanical durability, and service‑friendly features to ensure reliable operation even in heavy‑duty industrial environments.
At the core of the pump’s construction is its 2‑1/2" x 2" NPT suction and discharge configuration, which allows for smooth liquid flow and reduced friction losses, supporting flow rates of up to 300 GPM (68.1 m³/h) and heads reaching 115 ft (35 m). This makes the Series 200 suitable for applications requiring both high volume and moderate pressure.
The pump is available in cast iron or bronze constructions, enabling the unit to be matched to chemically challenging or abrasive environments. The use of stainless steel fasteners throughout the assembly significantly enhances corrosion resistance, ensuring mechanical longevity in both indoor and outdoor installations.
A key performance component is the dynamically balanced enclosed impeller, with a diameter of 5.5 inches (139.7 mm). This impeller geometry promotes hydraulic stability, allowing the pump to operate smoothly across a wide performance curve. The dynamic balancing reduces axial and radial loads on the bearings, minimizing mechanical wear while improving energy efficiency. This also helps maintain quieter operation and more consistent flow characteristics under varying system conditions.
To ensure dependable sealing performance, the Series 200 uses a self‑adjusting carbon/ceramic/Viton mechanical seal. This combination provides excellent resistance against chemicals, temperature swings, and abrasive particles present in many industrial fluids. For specialized applications, the pump can be equipped with alternative seal material combinations to address unique fluid challenges or extreme conditions.
The pump’s versatility is further enhanced by its wide selection of drive configurations, including close‑coupled 184TC and 215C motor frames, hydraulic motor drive options (0.73 cu. in./11.96 cm³), engine drive for 1‑inch shafts, and pedestal‑mount configurations. This adaptability allows customers to integrate the Series 200 into both fixed and mobile equipment platforms, from stationary plant systems to engine‑driven agricultural or construction equipment.
To accommodate solids‑laden liquids, the Series 200 is engineered to handle particles up to 0.6 inches (15.2 mm). This capability expands its usability in environments where light debris, organic solids, or process particulates are present. The pump can also be ordered as a “Wet End” PumPAK, enabling rapid installation onto standard NEMA C‑face motors without the need for additional alignment or complex assembly.
Each pump undergoes factory performance testing to verify hydraulic output and mechanical integrity before shipment. Combined with its rugged construction, customizable materials, and broad operating envelope, the Series 200 delivers long‑term reliability across agricultural sprayer systems, commercial washdown operations, industrial fluid transfer processes, and OEM‑integrated machinery.
