Product Overview
The Series 60 end‑suction centrifugal pump is engineered to deliver reliable hydraulic performance through a combination of precision‑machined components, durable materials, and a compact, close‑coupled configuration. Its cast iron or ductile iron casing provides structural rigidity and high resistance to mechanical stress, allowing the pump to maintain stability under continuous duty cycles and fluctuating system loads. The pump utilizes an enclosed impeller measuring 5.47 inches (138.9 mm) in diameter, dynamically balanced to minimize vibration, reduce axial and radial loading, and optimize energy transfer across the flow range. This balance not only enhances efficiency but also extends the operational life of bearings and mechanical seals.
The enclosed impeller design supports consistent hydraulic performance while mitigating losses associated with turbulence and recirculation. Available in cast iron, bronze, or aluminum, the impeller material options enable the pump to adapt to varying fluid characteristics, from clean water to mildly corrosive liquids. The internal flow passages are designed to minimize resistance, supporting a maximum flow capacity of up to 65 GPM (14.8 m3/h) and total dynamic head up to 112 feet (34 m), making the Series 60 suitable for medium‑pressure transfer and circulation applications.
A key component of the pump’s durability is its mechanical seal. The standard seal configuration includes carbon and ceramic sealing faces paired with a Viton elastomer, providing chemical compatibility with a broad range of fluids while maintaining reliable sealing performance at elevated temperatures. The seal’s self‑adjusting properties help maintain optimal face loading over time, compensating for normal wear and ensuring leak‑free operation. For more demanding or specialized applications, alternative seal material combinations are available.
Drive flexibility is a standout feature of the Series 60. The pump can be supplied as a close‑coupled unit for mounting directly onto NEMA 56C motors, forming a compact, alignment‑free assembly that reduces installation time. For mobile, agricultural, or remote applications, several hydraulic motor displacements are available, offering adaptability to systems where electric power is limited or inaccessible. The PumPAK® configuration, which includes the pump end without a motor, provides additional customization options for OEM integrators.
The pump’s construction includes stainless steel fasteners to ensure long‑term corrosion resistance, even in environments where moisture, chemicals, or fertilizers are present. The hydraulic end includes a solids‑handling capability of 0.11 inches, supporting applications involving small particulates without risking impeller or seal damage. Thoughtful design elements such as dual drain ports further simplify installation and service, enabling easy system draining and winterization.
Together, these features make the Series 60 a versatile, efficient, and highly serviceable centrifugal pump suitable for both stationary and mobile systems across multiple industries.
