Product Overview

The MP Pumps Series 80 end suction centrifugal pump is a close‑coupled pumping solution designed for reliability, versatility, and ease of installation across diverse liquid‑handling applications. Built around standard NEMA “C” face motors, the compact design eliminates the need for external couplings and ensures stable alignment, making it ideal for installations where space efficiency and simplified mounting are critical.

At the heart of the pump’s hydraulic performance is a 5.90" enclosed, dynamically balanced impeller, engineered to reduce vibration, minimize radial forces, and extend bearing life. The balanced profile contributes to smoother operation, higher efficiency, and consistent performance over long duty cycles.

The pump is available in cast iron or bronze construction, enabling the operator to select the appropriate material based on fluid compatibility, environmental exposure, and expected service conditions. All fastening hardware is made of stainless steel, ensuring corrosion resistance and preventing thread seizure during maintenance, especially in high‑moisture or chemical‑exposed environments.

A carbon/ceramic/Viton® mechanical seal is included as standard, offering chemical compatibility with a broad range of liquids. Its self‑adjusting characteristics help maintain proper sealing pressure throughout the seal’s lifespan. For specialized applications—such as fluids with elevated temperature, abrasiveness, or specific chemical requirements—alternative seal materials are available upon request.

Hydraulically, the Series 80 features 1½" NPT suction and 1¼" NPT discharge connections, optimized for smooth fluid entry and minimal inlet losses. The pump is capable of delivering flows up to 80 GPM (18.1 m³/h) and heads up to 139 ft (42 m), making it suitable for transfer, circulation, pressure boosting, and general service operations. Its ability to pass solids up to 0.13" (3.3 mm) increases reliability in applications where small particulates may be present.

The pump supports motor outputs up to 3 HP (2.2 kW), with performance curves suited to high‑speed operation. Multiple drive formats are available, including close‑coupled models (56C and 145TC frames), a pedestal version for belt‑ or coupling‑driven configurations, and the manufacturer’s PumPAK® wet‑end assembly, designed for easy integration with user‑supplied motors. Additionally, the pump can be paired with hydraulic motors in several displacement sizes, offering adaptability for mobile and off‑grid systems.

Practical servicing elements, such as 1/8" NPT pipe plugs for draining and priming, help streamline commissioning and routine maintenance. The open motor adaptor provides mechanical protection and enhances airflow around the motor body, promoting better cooling and extending operational life in demanding duty cycles.

Overall, the Series 80 combines durable materials, efficient hydraulic design, adaptable drive options, and service‑friendly construction. This makes it a highly capable and dependable pump for agricultural, commercial, industrial, and OEM environments where consistent performance and long service life are essential.
