Product Overview
The FLOMAX® 15 316 SS is built around a precision‑machined 316 stainless steel pump body that offers superior durability and chemical resistance compared to standard metallic alternatives. The pump incorporates a semi‑open, dynamically balanced impeller with a maximum diameter of 6.0 in (152.4 mm), enabling efficient handling of solids‑laden or viscous fluids while maintaining stable hydraulic performance. For users requiring enhanced throughput, an optional 5‑blade stainless steel impeller is available.
This model features an integrated Viton® flapper valve that retains a full column of liquid in the suction line after initial priming, enabling immediate restart capability and eliminating the need for repeated manual priming. The renewable wear plate contributes to lower maintenance costs and extends pump life by preserving internal clearances and improving efficiency over time.
The pump accommodates a wide selection of drive configurations, including close‑coupled 184TC or 215C frame electric motors, 11–13 HP engines, hydraulic motor drives, or pedestal-mounted belt‑drive systems. The PumPAK® configuration offers a fully assembled, factory‑tested pump end ready for integration with the user’s preferred motor or drive system.
Hydraulically, the FLOMAX® 15 316 SS delivers flows up to 300 GPM (68 m³/h) and heads up to 136 ft (41 m), providing reliable performance across diverse applications. Premium Carbon/Ceramic/Viton® mechanical seals ensure compatibility with a broad range of fluids, and special seal combinations can be ordered for abrasive or highly corrosive liquids.
The suction side is equipped with a 3" NPT ANSI 150# class flat flange, while the discharge utilizes a 3" SAE 4‑bolt flat face connection. An optional 3" NPT ANSI 150# discharge flange kit (MP38647) enhances installation flexibility. Stainless steel drive sleeves, corrosion‑resistant fasteners, and a rugged overall construction further reinforce the pump’s suitability for intensive and continuous‑duty environments.
