Product Overview

The FLOMAX® 8 is designed to generate strong vacuum levels, enabling it to lift liquids from depths of up to 25 ft (7.6 m) after initial priming. Once primed, its internal flapper valve maintains a full liquid column in the suction line, ensuring consistent, uninterrupted operation without the need for repeated priming.

The pump features a semi‑open impeller with a maximum diameter of 5.0 in (127 mm), dynamically balanced to reduce vibration, enhance hydraulic efficiency, and minimize wear. This design supports flow rates up to 150 GPM (34 m³/h) and total head capabilities up to 100 ft (30.5 m), making it suitable for both low‑ and high‑pressure applications.

Durability is at the core of the FLOMAX® 8 construction. Key wetted components are available in a range of materials – including 316 stainless steel, aluminum, bronze, and cast iron – allowing customization for specific media compatibility. A renewable wear plate protects the pump casing and significantly extends service life by enabling fast, cost‑effective replacement during maintenance intervals.

Corrosion‑resistant stainless‑steel fasteners and drive sleeves contribute to long‑term reliability, particularly in harsh outdoor or marine environments. The pump supports multiple drive configurations, including close‑coupled electric motors (56C and 145TC frames), engine‑mount designs up to 6.5 HP, hydraulic motor options, pedestal mounting, and PumPAK® assembly versions for integration with a user‑supplied driver.

Seal options include standard carbon/ceramic/Viton combinations as well as specialized materials for difficult or abrasive liquids. A double seal configuration is available for applications where dry‑run capability or enhanced sealing performance is required.

The FLOMAX® 8 is ABS Type Approved, ensuring compliance with marine industry regulations and suitability for classification‑controlled installations.
