The FLOMAX® 8 SS Double Seal pump integrates advanced hydraulic design with rugged material engineering to support continuous, demanding operation. Its self‑priming capability enables the unit to lift liquids from depths up to 25 ft (7.6 m), facilitated by an integrated flapper valve that maintains a fully primed suction line for immediate restart performance. The pump features a semi‑open 4.88" (123.95 mm) impeller optimized to balance efficiency, solids handling, and flow stability, delivering capacities up to 170 GPM (38.6 m³/h) and discharge heads reaching 130 ft (39.6 m).
A Type 31 silicon carbide/silicon carbide double mechanical seal ensures enhanced reliability in abrasive or corrosive media, significantly reducing wear and extending operational life. The FLOMAX® 8 SS Double Seal also supports a wide range of drive configurations – including hydraulic drives, engine mounts, pedestal mounts, and close-coupled motor frames (56C, 145TC, 184C) – making it suitable for both permanent installations and mobile systems.
Its 316 stainless‑steel construction provides superior defense against chemical attack and environmental degradation, while the optional 5‑blade impeller and hydraulic motor configurations (.37, .45, .58 cu in) enable users to tailor pump performance for specific application requirements. Additionally, the pump is available as a PumPAK® assembly, offering a fully tested pump end for seamless integration with user‑selected power sources.
