PETROLEUM 10 | P Series | Self-Priming Centrifugal Pump (2" x 2")

The MP Pumps Petroleum 10 is a heavy‑duty, self-priming centrifugal pump engineered for demanding fuel‑handling applications across industrial, agricultural, commercial, and OEM markets. Designed to deliver strong suction performance and reliable fluid transfer, the Petroleum 10 is capable of pulling liquids from heights up to 25 ft (8 m), making it a versatile solution for a broad range of fuel and petroleum-based media.

Technical Product Description

The Petroleum 10 self‑priming pump incorporates a robust hydraulic design paired with durable construction materials to ensure consistent performance and extended service life. Its ability to create sufficient vacuum for efficient liquid lift makes it suitable for installations requiring above‑ground mounting or long suction lines.

The unit is available in three specialized variants – PE, PG, and PO – each engineered to handle specific fuel types including ethanol blends, gasoline, kerosene, jet fuel, biodiesel, and fuel oils. These models utilize semi‑open, dynamically balanced impellers made of cast iron, with optional aluminum or 316 stainless steel materials for operations requiring superior chemical resistance.

The Petroleum 10 can be configured with multiple drive options including close‑coupled electric motors (182TC and 184TC frames), gasoline engines, hydraulic motors, or pedestal mounts for belt‑driven systems. The PumPAK® version provides a fully assembled, tested pump end ready for easy coupling with various drivers.

Key durability-enhancing elements include a stainless steel drive sleeve, stainless steel fasteners, and a renewable wear plate that extends component life while simplifying field maintenance. Seal assemblies differ per model to ensure compatibility with the intended media, using combinations of carbon, silicon carbide, Ni‑Resist, and Viton elastomers.

Built for versatility, the Petroleum 10 is also available with explosion‑proof motor mounting options for hazardous Class 1, Group D environments (PE and PG models). Selected engine‑mount configurations meet 46 CFR compliance requirements, supporting use in marine and regulated fuel‑handling applications.
