Features and Benefits
The Petroleum 8 features a semi‑open, dynamically balanced impeller that provides stable hydraulic performance and improved handling of small solids while maintaining efficiency. A renewable wear plate allows for easy restoration of internal clearances to maintain long‑term performance. A stainless steel drive sleeve and stainless steel fasteners protect critical assembly points from corrosion and wear, making the pump suitable for demanding fuel environments.
The unit supports a wide range of drive configurations. It can be close‑coupled to 56C and 145TC frame motors, paired with a 5.5 HP (4 kW) engine, or integrated into hydraulic systems using .37 in³ (6.1 cm³) or .45 in³ (7.4 cm³) hydraulic motors. For flexible installation, it also comes in a pedestal version or as a PumPAK® pump end, allowing users to integrate their own driver.
Self‑priming capabilities allow the pump to achieve up to 25 ft (7.6 m) suction lift, eliminating the need for foot valves and allowing above‑grade installation. It can deliver up to 100 ft (30 m) of total dynamic head, supporting common fuel transfer distances and vertical lifts. An optional five‑blade impeller is available for applications requiring increased flow rates.
Material and design variations help ensure compatibility with different fuels:
- PE 8: optimized for ethanol and E85, with corrosion‑resistant wetted components.
- PG 8: configured for gasoline, kerosene, avgas, and Jet A/8, including a non‑spark clamp for enhanced safety.
- PO 8: designed for biodiesel, fuel oil, and diesel.
Impeller material options include cast iron (standard), 316 stainless steel (PE option), and aluminum (PG option).
For hazardous environments, PE 8 and PG 8 can be supplied with Class I, Group D explosion‑proof motors, while PO 8 is offered with TEFC motors for tough, general‑purpose duty. With multiple mounting options and compact dimensions, the Petroleum 8 integrates seamlessly into agricultural, industrial, commercial, and OEM fuel systems.
