Technical Overview
The MP Pumps 2CT‑3 Hydraulic is designed for heavy-duty fluid transfer where reliability and ease of maintenance are critical. Its self-priming centrifugal design eliminates the need for external priming systems, allowing quick start-up even after suction interruptions. This makes it ideal for applications involving contaminated or debris-laden fluids.
The pump features a cast iron casing for structural strength and a ductile iron impeller that resists impact and wear from solids. The impeller’s 5.82-inch diameter ensures efficient hydraulic performance, delivering up to 350 GPM (79.5 m³/h) and heads of 90 ft (27.4 m). The ability to pass solids up to 1.5 inches (38.1 mm) minimizes clogging and downtime in demanding environments.
A 304 stainless steel shaft sleeve protects the drive shaft from corrosion and abrasion, extending service life in harsh conditions. The hydraulic motor drive (0.58 cu. in. displacement) provides flexibility for mobile or remote installations where electric or engine-driven options are impractical. The pump uses a carbon/ceramic/Viton mechanical seal, offering excellent resistance to heat and chemicals, ensuring leak-free operation.
Maintenance is simplified through a back pull-out design, allowing the rotating assembly to be removed without disturbing the piping. Additionally, the removable trash cleanout cover provides direct access to the pump interior for quick debris removal, reducing downtime and service costs.
This combination of rugged construction, high solids handling, and service-friendly features makes the 2CT‑3 Hydraulic an optimal choice for industrial, commercial, and OEM applications requiring dependable performance under tough conditions.
