The FLOMAX® 5 is a 1½" × 1½" NPT self‑priming, centrifugal pump designed to generate strong vacuum capabilities, enabling liquid lifting from depths up to 25 ft (7.6 m). Its self‑priming functionality is supported by an integrated flapper valve that maintains a full liquid column within the suction line, ensuring rapid and consistent re‑priming during intermittent operation.
Constructed from robust materials – including aluminum, bronze, and cast iron – the FLOMAX® 5 is engineered to withstand demanding duty cycles and corrosive environments. A semi‑open, dynamically balanced impeller with a maximum diameter of 5.0" (127 mm) ensures smooth hydraulic performance, while a renewable wear plate enhances mechanical longevity and allows cost‑effective servicing.
The pump is compatible with a range of drivers: close‑coupled 56C and 145TC frame motors, gasoline engines up to 6.5 HP (4.8 kW), or hydraulic motors in multiple displacements. A pedestal configuration is also available for belt‑driven or custom installations.
Additional design features include stainless steel fasteners and drive components that enhance corrosion resistance, as well as customizable seal material options for applications involving abrasive, viscous, or chemical media. Optional upgrades – such as a 5‑blade impeller for higher flow, double‑seal arrangements for dry‑run conditions, and stainless‑steel impeller construction – further expand the pump’s adaptability across industry sectors.
