FLOMAX® 5 - Hydraulic | 1.5" Self Priming Pump

The FLOMAX® 5 Hydraulic Self-Priming Centrifugal Pump is engineered for demanding industrial, agricultural, and marine applications that require robust performance, reliable hydraulic drive integration, and exceptional self‑priming capability. Built to withstand harsh operating environments, the pump provides consistent, high‑volume liquid transfer while maintaining durability and ease of maintenance.

Product Overview

The FLOMAX® 5 Hydraulic is a high‑efficiency self-priming centrifugal pump designed to deliver superior hydraulic performance across a wide range of operational conditions. Its self‑priming capability – powered by an integrated flapper valve – allows the unit to pull liquids from depths of up to 25 ft (7.6 m) without the need for additional priming systems. This internal valve preserves the liquid column in the suction line, enabling rapid and reliable restart even after the pump has been shut down.

Engineered around rugged construction materials including aluminum, bronze, and cast iron, the pump housing is built to resist wear, corrosion, and demanding duty cycles. A dynamically balanced 5.0" (127 mm) semi‑open impeller provides smooth, efficient flow while minimizing vibration and enhancing long‑term stability. Advanced components such as a stainless steel drive sleeve, stainless steel fasteners, and a renewable wear plate significantly extend service life and simplify maintenance.

The pump integrates seamlessly with multiple gerotor hydraulic motor options (.22, .37, and .45 cu. in. displacement / 3.6, 6.1, 7.4 cm3), allowing operators to tailor hydraulic speed and torque to application-specific requirements. Depending on configuration, hydraulic flow ranges from 4–11 GPM (0.9–2.5 m³/h), with system operating pressures up to 2550 PSI (176 bar). These characteristics allow the FLOMAX® 5 Hydraulic to achieve liquid flow rates up to 175 GPM (39.7 m³/h) and heads reaching 230 ft (70 m)

For challenging environments involving abrasive or corrosive media, optional enhancements – such as specialized double grease‑lubricated seals or stainless steel impellers – further optimize system resilience. Its ability to handle solids up to 0.56" (14.2 mm) in diameter broadens its suitability for contaminated or particulate‑laden fluids. These features position the pump as an ideal solution for bilge systems, auxiliary fire pumps, ballast transfers, agricultural sprayers, blending systems, and general industrial liquid handling.
